Bio
I started making basses mainly for myself about 5
years ago. I found that a lot of the basses on the market didn't have
what I needed and/or wanted. To satisfy my own needs & wants in a bass,
I would build a bass using the best parts available. Through the years,
I have gotten many complements on the instruments I've built.
Recently, I've sold a few of the basses that I have built on TalkBass,
an internet discussion group that I am very active on, and the owners
have had nothing but great things to say about the basses. I've been asked
countless times from TalkBass members to build a bass for them or if I
was planning to start to build my own line of basses. With every bass
I've built, the praise has made me consider starting to build my own line
of "Valenti Basses".
One of the 1st basses I built was with the help of my very good friend,
Michael Maggio Jr, from Maggio Music in Brooklyn, NY. I worked there for
about 2 years & watched how from a tiny shop, Mike Jr. would work his
magic doing repairs that others wouldn't even try to attempt.
Currently, I also work at Sadowsky Guitars® in Brooklyn NY where I take
care of shipping & handling as well as do all final inspections of instruments
that leave the shop. I have learned a lot working with Roger Sadowsky
& the crew. The level of perfection & absolute attention to every single
detail is incredible. Watching the process from pre-production to assembly
to the final product has given me the experience & knowledge to build
my own basses to a higher standard.
What I'm doing with "Valenti Basses®" is taking what I've learned from
Maggio Music, Sadowsky Guitars, 10 years worth of gigging & using all
that knowledge to build the best possible bass at the best possible price.
I'm using high quality parts & hardware from USA Custom Guitar Parts,
Nordstrand, Aguilar, DiMarzio, BassLines, EMG, HipShot, Audere, East (J-Retro)
and more to bring the consumer the best possible bass that will last more
than one lifetime.
